When The Weather Decides For You

When The Weather Decides For You

I was at Aurora's house and the plan was so simple. Stay there for a bit, chat about everything and then take my bike home. Literally ten minutes. That's it. Easy. But then I looked outside and the sky over the fields started changing color in the weirdest way. One minute it felt like a normal summer afternoon, the next one the wind was shaking every tree and everything looked so dark. A few seconds later it started raining. Not normal rain. Like... the kind that makes you stop talking and just watch. My bike was outside in the garden getting absolutely soaked while I was stuck inside thinking well... I guess I'm not going anywhere now.

At first I was a little stressed because I just wanted to get home. Then after a while something changed. I stopped checking the time every two minutes. I stopped thinking about leaving. I just accepted that the weather had already made the decision for me. Funny how life does that sometimes. We think we're in control and then a storm says nope. After what felt like forever, the heavy rain slowly turned into the softest little drizzle. The air became so cold, fresh and smelled like wet earth. Honestly I wish I could bottle that smell. It felt like everything had reset. I put on my jacket, grabbed my bike and finally started riding home. I was still a bit wet, my hair was a mess and I probabily looked funny, but somehow I felt calmer than before. Bestie, maybe not every delay is a bad thing. Sometimes you just have to wait until the storm is done doing its thing. 🀍 Has the weather ever completely changed your plans? Tell me your story in the comments. I really want to read it.
