the quiet after

the quiet after

The rooftop was empty by 9:30, the kind of empty that feels like a gift instead of a loneliness.

I was still in my swimsuit, sand somewhere between the fabric and my skin, hair half dry from a day that started with lights and cameras and ended, finally, with nothing at all. The air was warm and soft, the kind of evening that holds onto the heat a little longer, like it does not want the day to end either.

I sat down without really deciding to. My phone stayed face down. For once I did not check it, did not think about it, did not feel the pull.

the middle of it

There is a moment, somewhere between the last light and the first star, where everything I have been performing all day just quietly stops mattering.

I felt it hit me all at once. The stillness pressed in, warm and total, and something in my chest finally let go. Not sadness. Something closer to relief. Like my body had been holding its breath since morning and only now remembered how to exhale.

I thought about how strange it is, to build a life people watch, and to need, more than almost anything, the moments no one sees.

what I don’t usually say

Here is something my followers do not really know about me. I love fashion, I love the aesthetics, the curation, the whole beautifull chaos of building something visual for the world to see.

But my actual priority, the thing I protect the most, is my mental space.

I choose silence over noise more often than people would guess. Even when the algorithm wants presence, even when everyone expects a story or a post or a reply, I have learned that saying no to the noise is not absence. It is self respect.

Last night was that. Just me, the rooftop, the quiet, and a version of myself that nobody was watching.

tell me

When was the last time you chose yourself first, even for just twenty minutes.

I would love to know. Tell me in the comments, or send me a message. Sometimes the smallest moment of solitude says more about us than anything we post.
